PHILADELPHIA - Freshman
Hana Granillo picked up a straight-set victory at No. 4 singles for the La Salle University women's tennis team, who finished up its regular season with a 6-1 loss to Atlantic 10 rival Saint Joseph's on Sunday.
Granillo defeated Katherine Devlin, 6-1, 6-4, while two other singles matches went a full three sets. Sophomore
Brittany Poje won the first set of her match at No. 3 against Madeline Hill, 6-1, but dropped the final two, 6-1 and 7-6 (4). Senior
Jayla Smith also won her first set at No. 6 but dropped a close decision to Valeria Gonzalez.
The Explorers will head to Florida for the season-ending Atlantic 10 Championship in Orlando, Fla. The single-elimination event will take place at the United States Tennis Association's National Campus.
