ORLANDO, Fla. - The La Salle University women's tennis team will tangle with fourth-seeded Duquesne in the opening round of the Atlantic 10 Championships on Wednesday, April 25. First serve is set for 9:00 a.m.
The four-day tournament will take place at the United States Tennis Association's National Campus, with all matches available via live stream. The first three rounds will be streamed through theÂ
USTA website's Playsight system, which allows viewers to select the court they wish to watch. The finals will be shown on the Atlantic 10 Digital Network.
La Salle has won more matches during the spring season than in the previous four years combined. The Explorers took home back-to-back wins over Rider and Monmouth, and also edged St. Bonaventure for the program's first A-10 victory in over a decade.
Sophomores
Tiffany Theophil and
Ali Snyder, along with junior
Brittany Poje have been stalwarts in the lineup all year. Senior sisters
Jayla Smith and
Jade Smith are also expected to see action as they look to close out their collegiate careers on a high note.
The Dukes enter the match with a 14-4 record overall, and are 5-2 in A-10 competition. Julianne Herman, who has primarily played No. 2 singles for Duquesne and was a First Team All-A-10 choice last year, leads the team with 21 singles wins in dual matches.
