Danielle Rooney have earned Atlantic 10 Women's Soccer Weekly Awards, with Bower taking Co-Offensive Player of the Week and Rooney claiming Rookie of the Week, the conference announced Monday afternoon.
Bower, who snags her third weekly honor this season, scored six points on three goals last week. The Millville, Pa. native had a goal against UMass and scored both the game-tying and game-winning goal against Dayton to clinch the four seed in the Atlantic 10 Championship. Bower's performances move her into a sixth-place tie with Lisa McDermott '89 for goals all-time (27) and an eighth-place tie with Dana Gavaghan '01 in career points (61).
This is Rooney's first weekly honor of her career. The rookie contributed on every La Salle goal in the 3-2 defeat of Dayton. Rooney scored four points on the week with the Explorers first goal over the Flyers and assisted on Bower's game-tying and game-winning goals.
La Salle will host Dayton on Saturday, Nov. 2 in the Atlantic 10 Championship at McCarthy Stadium. The quarterfinal matchup with kickoff at 1 p.m. and stream on ESPN+.
