Rogelio Gonzalez and freshman
Nassim Fenjiro each were victorious in singles action for the La Salle University men's tennis team, who were narrowly defeated by Bucknell on Friday evening.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The two teams battled for a hard-fought doubles point, with Bucknell winning at the top spot and La Salle picking up a victory at No. 2.
- Gonzalez and fellow sophomore Connor Merrill won, 6-3, before a close 6-4 loss at No. 3 allowed the Bison a 1-0 lead in the team competition.
- La Salle won two of the three matches that were decided in straight sets, as Gonzalez allowed his opponent, Marwan Abaza, just three games in a 6-2, 6-1 triumph at No. 3.
- Playing at the fourth spot, Fenjiro easily won the first set, 6-1, before a 6-4 victory in the second.
- Mowrey, who returned to action after a minor injury, suffered a setback at the hands of Ethan Jacobs, 7-6, 4-6, 6-3, with his teammate Patrick Pascual also falling in three sets at the No. 6 position.
- The only match that was not completed was in the third, as sophomore Colin Lucius and Max Garramone had each taken a set prior to the match being called.

- The Explorers will host Siena at Legacy Youth Tennis Center on Saturday, Feb. 16, beginning at 6:30 p.m.
