NEWARK, Del. - The La Salle University men's tennis team earned an early 1-0 lead thanks to a victory of the doubles point, but saw Delaware bounce back with six victories in singles action to take a 6-1 victory over the Explorers on Friday afternoon.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Senior Francesco Mowrey and freshman Nassim Fenjiro dominated the top doubles team of Delaware, picking up a 6-1 win to set the tone in doubles action.
- At the No. 2 position, sophomores Rogelio Gonzalez and Connor Merrill clinched the point for the Explorers with a 6-3 triumph.
- Singles was a different story, however, as the Blue Hens took five of the six matches in straight sets.
- Gonzalez was the lone individual to force a third set, jumping out to an early one-set lead before falling to Blaise Casselbury, 5-7, 6-2, 10-8.
