ORLANDO, Fla. - After one of the most memorable victories in program history, the La Salle University men's tennis team saw its season come to a close on Friday afternoon. The Explorers, playing in their first-ever Atlantic 10 Championship quarterfinal, fell to No. 3 Davidson, 4-0, at the United States Tennis Association National Campus.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Wildcats jumped out to an early 1-0 lead thanks to a pair of wins in doubles action.Â
- Davidson earned victories at No. 2 and No. 3, and held a 5-2 lead at No. 1 prior to clinching the point.
- Needing just three singles wins to secure the team triumph, the Wildcats had four individuals win the first set of their singles match.
- Yash Parikh picked up a 6-0, 6-2 win at No. 2 to put the score at 2-0, and Camden Mazzoni won at No. 5 to push Davidson ahead, 3-0.
- In other action, senior Francesco Mowrey and sophomore Colin Lucius won their first sets at No. 1 and No. 6.
- Unfortunately, Sam Kavarana won his match at No. 3 to secure the team win for the Wildcats prior to the other two matches concluding.Â
- The win advances Davidson to the semifinals of the A-10 Championship, where they will take on Richmond on Saturday.
