PHILADELPHIA – The La Salle softball team (7-22) will host city foe Drexel (23-12-1) on Wednesday for a pair of midweek games. The doubleheader is scheduled to start at 2:30 p.m. at West Campus Field.
 
SCOUTING THE EXPLORERS:

• La Salle is coming into Wednesday's games at 7-22 on the season after a weekend sweep at UMass.
• Senior Emma Schweigert is pacing the team with a .313 batting average on the season. Last week, Schweigert hit .400 to lift her average. She is tied for the team lead with 26 hits and four home runs.
• Junior Emily Conaway tops the squad in doubles (7), RBIs (20), runs (16), and total bases (47). She's tied with Schweigert for base knocks and homers.
• In the circle, the Explorers typically throw two pitcher – freshman Cailey Joyce and sophomore Morgan Orlowski.
• Joyce (4-9) has seen the most action with 105 innings of work over 21 appearances and 12 starts. She posts a 5.91 ERA over 154 hits and 25 walks. The rookie has sent down 55 batters on strikes.
• Orlowski leads the staff with a 5.28 ERA in 76.2 innings. She's appeared in 17 games, making 16 starts, and has allowed 115 hits and 26 free passes. Orlowski has struck out 37 this season.
• In last week's five games, Joyce paced the team, hitting .646. The week pushed the rookie's batting average up to .242 on the season.

SCOUTING THE DRAGONS:

• Drexel is 23-12-1 after a 2-1 weekend over UNC – Wilmington.
• Six different Dragons are hitting over .300 on the season, led by Kristi DiMeo. She's hitting .455 with a team high 55 hits, 14 home runs, and 54 RBIs.
• Four different pitchers have made at least 10 appearances this season, with Devon Grippe and Brooklyn Daly leading the staff with 19 apiece.
• Grippe holds a 1.87 ERA in 90.0 innings of work. She's allowed 75 hits and 21 walks, while punching out 33 on strikes.
• Daly has pitched 92.1 innings and posts a 3.34 ERA. Daly has surrendered 86 hits and 37 walks, striking out 46.
• Drexel ranks second in doubles/game (1.94), 10th in batting average (.336), 13th in on-base percentage (.419), 13th in runs/game (6.97) and 16th in slugging percentage (.541) as a team through games on Monday.
