Nathan Gillis won the 800 meters in his season debut, while junior
Dennis Manyeah claimed his second straight high jump win to lead the La Salle University men's track and field team at the Penn 8-Team Select Saturday night from Ocean Breeze.
WHERE THEY FINISHED
- Gillis made a splash in his season debut, taking the 800-meter title among 42 finishers with a time of 1:51.55. Fellow senior Anthony Hawthorne also made his season debut and was close behind, taking third in the 800 at 1:51.92.
- Manyeah continued his hot start to the season, capturing the high jump crown with a leap of 2.05 meters. He has won an event in each of La Salle's first three meets this season.
- Senior Darian Alston earned a runner-up finish in the triple jump with a leap of 14.82 meters. He also finished eighth in the long jump with a mark of 6.77 meters.
- Senior Ache Hall Took fourth place in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 8.38 seconds, while junior Dylan Burnett placed seventh in 8.77 seconds.
- Sophomore Chris Lewis finished fourth in the 60-meter dash, sprinting in 6.97 seconds.
- In the mile, sophomore Ibrahim Kedir finished eighth out of 34 finishers with a time of 4:10.04, while redshirt sophomore Ryan James was 19th in 4:23.75.
- Freshman Dan Whaley placed 12th among 31 runners in the 200-meter dash, finishing with a mark of 50.34 seconds.
