LOUDONVILLE, N.Y. - After dropping a hard-fought match on Friday against host Siena, the La Salle University men's tennis team bounced back for an emphatic 6-1 victory over Holy Cross on Saturday afternoon. Junior
Connor Merrill completed a perfect weekend, picking up wins at No. 3 singles and No. 1 doubles.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Explorers took the doubles point with wins at No. 1 and No. 3, including an impressive 6-0 victory by freshman Gage Sanchez and junior Colin Lucius at No. 3.
- Singles action saw La Salle take five of six matches, all in straight sets.
- Freshman Brandon Caban squeaked out a tiebreaker to win the first set at No. 5, before sweeping the second, 6-0.
- Also picking up wins were junior Rogelio Gonzalez (No. 2), Sanchez (No. 4), and Lucius (No. 6).
