PHILADELPHIA - The La Salle University men's tennis team picked up a convincing 6-1 win over St. Francis Brooklyn at Legacy Tennis Center on Saturday evening. Four Explorers won both singles and doubles matches, led by junior
Rogelio Gonzalez.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Gonzalez teamed with classmate Connor Merrill for a 6-3 victory at the top doubles position, helping the Explorers to the doubles point.
- Following a loss at No. 2, La Salle took an early 1-0 lead when junior Colin Lucius and freshman Brandon Caban took care of business at No. 3, 7-5.
- In singles, Gonzalez, Merrill and sophomore Nassim Fenjiro all won in straight sets to clinch the team victory.
- Three matches went to a third set, with Caban and Lucius taking 10-8 supertiebreak victories in their matches at No. 5 and No. 6, respectively.
UP NEXT
- The Explorers take a two-week break from match play before returning to action on Saturday, March 21 at Lehigh.
