PHILADELPHIA – The La Salle softball season will begin on Saturday and Sunday with a three-game series at Towson. The Explorers will take on the Tigers in a twin bill on Saturday at noon and 2 p.m., followed by a finale on Sunday at 2 p.m.
 
SCOUTING THE EXPLORERS:

• La Salle welcomes back nine student-athletes from a season ago and five new faces.
• Senior Ashley Mendenhall is the Explorers most seasoned player and will captain the infield at first base.
• Junior Kaylee Piven returns after going 7-for-19 (.368) in eight games played in the shorten 2020 season.
• Inside the circle, the Blue & Gold will see senior Morgan Orlowski return to action after missing last season. Junior Sarah Dowalo and sophomore Regan Ware join the squad to round out the pitching staff.

SCOUTING THE TIGERS:

• Towson sits at 4-3 overall after losing a pair to Howard on Wednesday.
• Six Tigers are hitting .333 or better this season, led by Nicole Kidwiler at .571.
• Collectively, the group is hitting .342 through seven games.
• Four different hurlers have seen action this season, led by Melissa Abrahamian and Julia Jackson with four appearances.
• Abrahamian leads the staff with a 3.27 ERA over 15.0 innings pitched.
