FAIRFAX, Va. - The La Salle University women's tennis team took on George Mason in its Atlantic 10 opener on Saturday, falling by a score or 7-0. Freshman
Isa Leano nearly pulled out her match at No. 2 singles, going to a third-set super tiebreaker against her counterpart.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Mason went on top with wins at No. 1 and No. 2 doubles, and immediately moved one point away from the team win as the Explorers forfeited singles matches at No. 5 and No. 6.
- Straight-set wins by the Patriots at Nos. 1, 3, and 4 clinched the victory to move the home team to 3-1 on the season.
- Leano was victorious in the first set of her match against Hannah Young, winning 6-3.
- Young took the second, 7-5, to force a third and decisive set which was contested as a super tiebreaker with the team point already decided.
- Unfortunately, Leano couldn't get over the hump and dropped the third, 10-6.
