PHILADELPHIA – The La Salle softball team (0-7) will take on Drexel (7-1) in four games this weekend with two at Drexel on Saturday and two at home on Sunday. Saturday's doubleheader will start at 11 a.m. with Sunday beginning at noon.
 
SCOUTING THE EXPLORERS:

• La Salle is still looking for its first win of the 2021 campaign after falling in four games to Saint Joseph's last time out.
• The Explorers boast a trio of batters hitting above .300 led by sophomore Maddy Little at .400. Sophomore Victoria Zatko (.353) and rookie Tessa Dodson (.333) complete the group.
• Both Zatko and Little are tied for the team high with six hits through seven games. Zatko also paces the team in total bases (11), extra base hits (3), and RBIs (5).
• In the circle, junior Sarah Dowalo (0-4) and sophomore Regan Ware (0-3) have been work horses for the La Salle staff.
• Dowalo has made four starts in six appearances for 18 innings of work. She has a 9.33 ERA with 24 earned runs, five walks, and six strikeouts.
• Ware has started three of her seven games this season with 17.2 innings of work. The Crewe, Va. Native holds a 15.06 ERA with 38 earned runs, nine walks, and five strikeouts.

SCOUTING THE DRAGONS:

• Drexel enters play at 7-1 after splitting a doubleheader against Saint Joseph's on Thursday.
• Nine Dragons are hitting above .300 among those who qualify, as the squad totals a .384 batting average.
• Linda Rush leads the team with a .667 line with a team high 16 hits, 15 runs, 25 RBIs, 42 total bases, and eight home runs.
• The Drexel pitching staff has seen four pitchers make an appearance on the season with a 2.02 ERA as a group.
• Lindsay Nelson (3-0) leads the group with 17.0 innings tossed. She has a 2.06 ERA with just five earned runs.
