Men's Tennis | March 5, 2021
PHILADELPHIA - The La Salle University men's and women's tennis programs will open the 2021 season on Friday against Mount St. Mary's. The matches will begin at 11:00 a.m. at Legacy Tennis Center.
The women's team is led by a pair of veterans in senior Aleks Nikolic and junior Jazmin Walle. Both have been stalwarts in the lineup over the last two seasons, and will look to lead the way for a pair of freshman newcomers - Isa Leano and Lauren Landstrom. The frosh were both rated three-star recruits by TennisRecruiting.net and will bolster the lineup.
Following an impressive 2019 season, the men's team looked to have found its groove right before the 2020 campaign was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The majority of that team is back, with seniors
Rogelio Gonzalez,
Colin Lucius, and
Connor Merrill figuring to play near the top of the lineup. Junior
Nassim Fenjiro, sophomore
Brandon Caban, and freshman Dylan Tull round out the lineup for the Explorers.
Following the match on Friday, the two teams will square off against a pair of opponents this weekend. The women will face Monmouth on Saturday, March 6, while the men take the short trip to NJIT on Sunday, March 7.
