PHILADELPHIA - The La Salle University men's tennis team opened its 2021 spring season with a tight 4-3 victory over Mount St. Mary's at Legacy Tennis Center on Friday. The Explorers received singles wins from senior

Nassim Fenjiro, and sophomore

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Explorers jumped out to an early 1-0 lead as they earned a 2-1 win in the doubles series.
- Caban and freshman Dylan Tull combined for an easy 6-1 win at No. 3, before Mount evened things with a win at No. 1.
- Down early in their No. 2 match, Lucius and Fenjiro fought back to earn a clinching 6-4 victory.
- Singles got off to a rough start for La Salle, as the Mountaineers picked up early wins at No. 1 and No. 4 to take a 2-1 team lead.
- The Mount continued its surge with another win at No. 3 to move one point away from victory, but the Explorers fought back.
- Fenjiro picked up a 6-3, 6-3 win at No. 3, before Lucius knotted the match with a straight-set victory at No. 5.
- The clinching point came with Caban, who dropped just four games to his opponent en route to a 6-3, 6-1 triumph.

- The Explorers will go on the road to face NJIT on Sunday, March 7, beginning at 1:00 p.m.
