PHILADELPHIA - The La Salle University women's tennis team opened its 2021 season on Friday afternoon with a 4-0 loss to Mount St. Mary's. The contest marked the first collegiate contest for a pair of Explorers, who will have a quick turnaround for their next match on Saturday at Monmouth.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Mount St. Mary's earned two wins in doubles to pick up the doubles point, with freshman Lauren Landstrom and senior Aleks Nikolic earning two games at the top doubles spot.
- In singles action, Landstrom picked up five games at the No. 1 spot and classmate Isa Leano also won five at No. 2.
- The Mountaineers, however, won the top four matches in singles and earned forfeit points in the bottom two.
