PHILADELPHIA – The La Salle softball team (0-15, 0-8 A-10) will travel to Massachusetts (7-10, 4-6 A-10) this weekend for a four-game set against the Minutewomen.
SCOUTING THE EXPLORERS:
- Sophomores Victoria Zatko (.333) and Maddy Little (.324) lead the Explorers in hitting this season, followed by rookie Tessa Dodson at .286.
- Zatko also paces the Blue & Gold in runs, homers, doubles, total bases, and RBIs.
- Junior Sarah Dowalo has made eight starts in 11 appearances to lead the Explorers pitching staff. Dowalo holds an 8.81 ERA and allows opponents to hit .411.
- Sophomore Regan Ware tallied seven starts with a 13.53 ERA to complete La Salle's staff.
SCOUTING THE MINUTEWOMEN:
- Five different Minutewomen are hitting .300 or better on the season, led by Amy Smith at .353. Smith also paces the team in hits and doubles.
- Three pitchers have seen action this season for UMass. Jessie DiPasquale leads the group in nearly every category from her 15 appearances. She holds a 5.42 ERA and allows foes to slash .301.
- Defensively, UMass leads the A-10 in double plays and triple plays per game. The squad is also in the top three in scoring and shutouts.
