EASTON, Pa. - Buoyed by a convincing sweep of the doubles point, the La Salle University men's tennis team kept momentum rolling into singles play against Lafayette, winning all six matches to take home a convincing 7-0 victory on Friday afternoon. The sweep was the first 7-0 win for the Explorers since April 10, 2018 when they defeated Rider by the same score.

HOW IT HAPPENED

• Seniors Rogelio Gonzalez and Connor Merrill set the tone early, picking up an easy 6-2 win at the top doubles position. 
• Teammates Nassim Fenjiro and Colin Lucius won at the second spot by the same score, while Brandon Caban and Dylan Tull completed the sweep with a 6-4 triumph at No. 3.
• Singles action saw Gonzalez, Fenjiro, Caban, and Tull each pick up straight-set victories.
• The win for Fenjiro, who moved up to No. 2 for the first time this year, was his third consecutive singles win, while Gonzalez is 3-1 over his last four completed matches.
• Merrill bounced back from a first-set loss to take the second, 6-4, and pick up the point at No. 3 with a 10-6 super tiebreak victory.
• At No. 4, Lucius also won a super tiebreak to edge Nash Lovallo.

• The Explorers will return to Atlantic 10 play on Saturday, April 10 at Fordham.
