Colin Lucius won his second straight singles match, which proved to be the clinching victory at the La Salle men's tennis team's 4-3 win over Jefferson on Tuesday afternoon. The Explorers won four of the five singles matches contested and overcame a forfeit loss at No. 6 singles.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Playing shorthanded due to a minor injury, the Explorers suffered a setback at doubles to fall into an early hole.Â
- In singles action, however, La Salle bounced back with a number of impressive performances.
- Sophomore Brandon Caban was outstanding at No. 5, defeating his opponent by scores of 6-3 and 6-1.
- At No. 2, junior Nassim Fenjiro won the first set of his match handily, 6-1, and led 4-0 in the second before his opponent retired.
- Senior Connor Merrill was victorious at No. 3, 6-2, 7-6, and classmate Colin Lucius clinched the team win at No. 4.
