PRINCETON, N.J. – The La Salle men's and women's track and field teams were led by junior
Christine Mancini with a record-setting time in the women's 800-meter at the Larry Ellis Invitational over the weekend.
HOW THEY FINISHED (MEN):
- The La Salle men's track and field teams saw five Explorers finish in the top 20. Alex Sandras saw the highest finish of the weekend for La Salle in the 10K. He crossed the line in third with a time of 31:05.97. The time marks a career-best for Sandras in the event.
- Dylan Servis finished 11th and Brycen Pitre in 18th in the 800m. Servis clocked in at 1:54.48 topping his previous career-best time by almost two seconds. Pitre recorded a time of 1:56.55 to also set a new career-best in the event.
- Five Explorers competed in the 1500m led by Liam Rivard in 11th with a time of 3:45.96. Rivard shaved nearly four seconds off his previous mark in the event for a new career-best time. Luke Jaciw-Zurakowsky rounded out the top 25 with a time of 3:48.49. Freshman James Ptack and Taonga Mbambo crossed the line in 35th and 36th, respectively. Ptack clocked in at 3:51.25 and Mbambo at 3:51.73. Ibrahim Kedir was the final Explorer to compete in the race recording a time of 3:54.42 for 43rd.
- MacCallum Rowe placed in the top 20 in the 5K claiming 14th with a time of 14:26.52. Ryan James clocked in at 14:42.61 for 22nd.
HOW THEY FINISHED (WOMEN):
- The women's track and field team's performance at the invitational was highlighted by Christine Mancini's record-breaking performance in the 800m. The junior claimed fourth place with a time of 2:06.51 to set a new program record in the event, previously set by Morgan Szekely with a time of 2:06.81 in 2015.
- Jenna Webb placed top 10 in the 800m with a time of 2:16.79.
- Maya Primas shined for the Explorers in sprints. She claimed 19th in the 200m with a time of 25.66 and 25th in the 400m with a time of 59.41.
- Liz Mancini placed top 20 in the 1500m crossing the line at 4:26.86 for 15th place.
- Maeve Gimbert landed in the top 10 in the 5K taking ninth with a time of 18:14.25, a new career-best.
- Olabisi Adams led the charge for the Explorers from the field taking ninth in the long jump with a mark of 5.50m.

- The Explorers will head south to Virginia next weekend for the Virginia Challenge on Friday, Apr. 22 and Saturday, Apr. 23.
