RICHMOND, Va. – The La Salle men's and women's track and field teams added six more medals on the final day of competition at the Atlantic 10 Outdoor Track and Field Championships, including two golds from
Liz Mancini and the squad of
James Ptack,
Brycen Pitre,
Dylan Servis and
Liam Rivard.
The Explorers end the championships bringing home 10 total medals to 20
th & Olney including three gold, six silver and one bronze.
HOW THEY FINISHED (MEN):
- Ptack, Pitre, Servis and Rivard teamed up to claim the gold for La Salle in the 4x800-meter relay. The squad clocked in a time of 7:40.96.
- Rivard also claimed a silver of his own for his 1:52.89 performance in the 800m.
- Luke Jaciw-Zurakowsky came in second in the 5K. His time of 14:24.63 earned him the second spot on the podium in the event.
- Ibrahim Kedir and MacCallum Rowe came in fourth and fifth in the 5K, respectively. Kedir clocked in at 14:27.36 while Rowe recorded a time of 14:30.14.
- Ptack placed top 10 in the 1500m followed by Stefano Isabella in the top 20. Ptack claimed ninth with a time of 3:57.73 and Isabella crossed the line in 18th with a time of 4:03.73.
HOW THEY FINISHED (WOMEN):
- Liz Mancini was the second Explorer to claim an individual title over the weekend. She finished the 5K in 16:38.98 to take gold in the event. She is the first Explorer to claim first in the event at the championships since sister Grace Mancini in 2009. This is also the first individual outdoor title for the senior.
- Christine Mancini claimed silver in both the 800m and 1500m. She clocked in at 2:10.96 in the 800m and 4:32.30 in the 1500m
- Maeve Gimbert finished the 5K in 12th with a personal-best time of 17:39.75.
