• Gillis had the top time in the 1,000-meter run preliminaries, crossing the line in 2:28.56 to advance to Sunday's finals.
• Hawthorne posted the fastest time in the 800 meters, cruising to the tune of 1:51.87 to move on to the finals on Sunday.
• Sophomore Ryan James placed sixth out of 26 runners in the 5,000 meters with a mark of 14:52.74. Redshirt freshman Ibrahim Kedir finished the 5K in 14:56.00 for ninth place.
• The Explorers also scored in the distance medlay relay as freshman Dylan Servis, freshman Dan Whaley, sophomore Brycen Pitre and freshman Taonga Mbambo teamed up to finish eighth in 10:30.32.
• Sophomore Chris Lewis advanced to the finals in the 60-meter dash, running the fifth fastest mark in 6.95 seconds in the prelims.
• Senior Ache Hall also moved on to Sunday's finals in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 8.52 seconds.
• Whaley ran the 400 meters in 51.42 seconds for 11th, while senior Darian Alston was 12th in the long jump with a leap of 6.70 meters and junior Dennis Manyeah finished 13th out of 22 in the 500 meters in 1:08.29.

• The Explorers will look to win some medals on the final day of the A-10 Championships Sunday.
