Darian Alston and
Nathan Gillis defended their titles on the final day of the Atlantic 10 Conference Indoor Track & Field Championships Sunday. Gillis repeated as the 1,000-meter champion, while Alston took gold in the triple jump for the second year in a row.
WHERE THEY FINISHED
- Alston won the triple jump over 12 competitors with a season-best leap of 15.10 meters (49' 6.5"), doing so on his fifth jump.
- After cruising into the 1,000-meter finals with the top time on Saturday, Gillis did it again on Sunday, winning the race with a time of 2:29.31.
- In a photo finish, senior Anthony Hawthorne earned a silver medal in the 800-meter run, wrapping up his A-10 indoor career with six total medals. Hawthorne narrowly missed out on gold, finishing the event in 1:55.93, just 0.02 seconds behind the winner.
- Senior Ache Hall placed fourth in the 60-meter hurdle finals, crossing the finish line in 8.32 seconds in his final A-10 indoor meet.
- Sophomore Chris Lewis took sixth place in the 60-meter dash finals, sprinting to a mark of 6.95 seconds. He was just 0.002 seconds away from fourth.
- Freshman Dylan Servis, Gillis, sophomore Brycen Pitre and Hawthorne teamed up for a sixth place finish in the 4x800 relay with a time of 7:48.67.
- Junior Dennis Manyeah posted a leap of 2.00 meters (6' 6.75") in the high jump to post a seventh place showing.
- La Salle also finished seventh in the 4x400 relay as freshman Dan Whaley, Manyeah, sophomore Khyree Johnson-Waters and senior Dom Mussoline ran a 3:30.15.
- Redshirt freshman Ibrahim Kedir took seventh in the 3,000 meters with a time of 8:32.16. Sophomore Ryan James finished 12th in 8:38.20 and freshman Alex Sandras was 19th in 8:48.20.

- The Explorers will compete at the IC4A Indoor Championships next weekend in Boston.
