Cheryl Reeve (Turnersville, N.J./Washington Township) was the engine that drove La Salle women's basketball to astonishing heights during the 1980's. Reeve was a four-year starter in the backcourt for the Explorers, who won an incredible 89 games during her career that spanned from 1984-88. An All-MAAC Freshman Team selection in her first year at La Salle, Reeve broke the single-season assists record as a sophomore as the program earned its second trip to the NCAA Tournament. Two years later as a senior, the New Jersey native captained the Explorers to a 25-5 record, a national ranking, and another berth into the NCAA Tournament while earning First Team All-MAAC and Second Team All-Big 5 accolades along the way. A Rhodes Scholar nominee, Reeve has continued to build her impressive basketball resume in the coaching ranks. She is a two-time WNBA Coach of the Year recipient (2011, 2016), and has guided the Minnesota Lynx to three league titles over a five-year span. She also helped Team USA to a gold medal as an assistant coach at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
