Donnie Carr led all Big 5 scorers and finished in the top two in Atlantic10 scoring for three seasons. He was named All-Big 5 all four years, only the fourth Big 5 player to do so.  He was the A-10 Rookie of the Year in 1997 and would be named to the All-Conference team the following three seasons.

At the end of his career, Carr had tallied 2,067 points, becoming the fourth highest scorer in Explorer history, and set the La Salle record for 3-point field goals (308).
