Playing four seasons for Explorers, Steve Black was selected to the All-Big 5 First Team in 1982, 1983, and 1984 and the Second Team in 1985. Black averaged 19.7 points per game in his career (2,012 total points), with 50.4% field goal shooting and 81.9% foul shooting.  He was later inducted into the Big 5 Hall of Fame.
