Frank S. Blatcher '56 was a key player on La Salle's 1954 NCAA Championship and 1955 NCAA runner-up basketball teams. Blatcher netted a game-high 23 points in the Explorers 92-76 triumph over Bradley in title game in 1954.

He averaged a career-high 10.4 points during his sophomore campaign and registered three seasons of over nine points per game. He pulled down a career-high 4.8 rebounds per game as a senior and averaged more than three per game, three years in a row. His record as a varsity player was 77-12.
