During Thomas Scanlon’s final season on the pitch (1960), he was voted First Team All-American by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America, becoming the first Explorer to receive the honor.

A standout halfback, Scanlon was named to the All-MAC team in each of his three years as a La Salle athlete.
