Coaches' Corner

La Salle's swimming coach from its debut in 1941, Joseph Kirk posted a 26-year record of 213-65 (.780) until his death in 1970. His teams captured the 1947 Eastern Catholic College Swimming Championship and the MAC title in 1957. From 1955-1958, he strung together 39 consecutive victories. He posted a third place NCAA finish in 1964 (College Division) and would win the MAC title again in 1966, as well as place fifth in the in NCAA (College Division) Championships that same year.

La Salle named its Kirk pool in his honor.
