Linda Hester became one of the leading scorers in Explorer women's basketball, scoring 1,490 points. Her career highlights include 83 games started, 108 games played, 629 field goals, 13.8 points per game, 143 steals, and 73.2% free throws made.

Hester later was a candidate for the USA team competing in the World University Games in 1985 and was inducted into the Big 5 Hall of Fame.
