A two-sport star at La Salle from 1989-93, Kelli McGahey (Blackwood, N.J./Bishop Eustace) was a standout for both the field hockey and softball programs during her time in North Philadelphia. McGahey led the Explorers in goals and points in each of her four seasons with the field hockey team, and was named to the Mid-Atlantic Region Second Team in 1991. On the softball diamond, McGahey was a three-time all-conference selection, including a First Team All-Midwestern City Conference choice as a senior in 1993. A stalwart behind the plate, McGahey led La Salle to the 1992 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Tournament title and was selected to the All-Tournament Team. McGahey, who earned All-MAAC Academic honors twice as a softball player, still ranks third in La Salle field hockey history with 40 goals and is also third in the softball career record book with 97 runs batted in.
